DDX is thrilled to announce the appointment of Andrew Hamilton as an equity partner.

With three decades of executive experience in the Asia Pacific region, Andrew’s appointment will solidify DDX’s market presence and advance its smart city and services portfolio in both the APAC and EU regions.

Andrew was previously the General Manager, leading Smart Cities and associated digital transformation for ASEAN, at Hitachi Asia Limited. He joined DDX on 1 October 2023 as Client Partner.

Andrew has been a pivotal figure in revolutionising industries across APAC, highlighted by his work on multi-billion USD infrastructure and global real estate projects, integrating digital transformation at every turn.

Having held multiple C-level positions, and as a regional executive with several big four regional consulting practices, his ability to build partnerships has been instrumental in executing hundreds of projects spanning at least 10 countries. Furthermore, Andrew’s reputation has seen him take the stage at multiple industry events, sharing insights on subjects including smart cities and digital transformation.

A DDX spokesperson said: "Andrew's deep-rooted experience, especially in smart cities, digital transformation, operational management, and EPC across various verticals such as telecom, real estate, and government, to name a few, will be pivotal for the growth of DDX’s chapter in smart cities. We are excited to bring his vision, leadership, and innovative thinking to our organisation."

Andrew will help grow DDX’s smart city business strategy, and also assist with key existing projects - such as One Bangkok and BMW Group - and new digital transformation projects.

Andrew said: “I am looking forward to applying my extensive regional experience to the smart city and digital transformation market from a more nimble and dynamic setting. DDX possesses a highly flexible, capable and experienced multidisciplinary team with regional experience in SEA and Europe.”

In his former role at Hitachi Consulting's Social Innovation Business APAC, Andrew championed the evolution of a new business wing focusing on smart cities and people-centric smart services. This was followed by Regional GM roles with Hitachi Asia Limited focussing on smart cities and digital transformation.

Andrew's expertise traverses various verticals including telecom, real estate and government, and covers disciplines from Internet of Things (IoT) and smart cities to large-scale transformations.

Prior to joining DDX, Andrew’s experience covered the following areas and positions:

  • Spearheaded a 520 million USD telecoms project in Bangkok.
  • CEO of a Fortune 500 company's SEA operations, overseeing 250 staff in telecom engineering and infrastructure.
  • Instrumental in the creation and growth of KPMG's telecom consulting practice in SEA.
  • Founding Senior Partner of Grant Thornton Consulting Thailand.
  • Head of Operations Consulting with PwC and regional telecom leadership roles across five countries.
